Did you know?

Did you know...

The first fake Christmas trees were made from dyed Goose feathers and was produced by the Germans. So the tree you have up in your loft has come a long way since then.

As a result feathers over the years have become the perfect way to decorate an otherwise rather bland tree.

Rather than spending money on craft feathers next time you go our for a walk why not collect any clean feathers. Wash they off when you get home and then when the season comes make small bunches by tying them together with bakers twine and place in the depths of your tree to give it some volume and bring back a bit of yesteryear into you own home.

Reeling it in

I've been on ebay looking for small wooden reels. I can't tell you why just yet. I want to keep it a surprise. I am hoping I can show you soon what I've been up to though.

In the meantime I uploaded this lovely hearts the other day. A handful in stock and ready to go.

Kinda cute huh?

So what will you be adding to your tree this year?

Little padded hearts

Over the years I've decided felt is the only way to go. Great colours, easy to work with, lots of mess. No really, I manage to create a lot of mess. As the years tick over I've made little padded hearts for my Christmas trees. It got to the stage where I had so many the only way I would be able to have room for new and interesting things would be to sell them. So, uploaded and ready to go on my Facebook page and soon to go into my Etsy store are some of these cutesy designs.

Would you like something for you tree or wreath? Why not message me with your thoughts and ideas?

With U in Mind leaps into Christmas Mayhem

Welcome to my new blog.

Yes, new!

Didn't you know? With U in Mind was my other blog. The one that hasn't seen the light of day in two years. In that light I guess I don't have the right to call it a blog any more. However, this one is. Excellent. Part way there.

But I have a renewed vigour for the written word and wanted to share it with you all! My apologises on that.

I wanted to dedicate this blog to my favourite time of the year. Clues in the title if you haven't worked out what that is by the way ;)

I will be linking up to my Facebook page where I shall bore most (and hopefully entertain a few) with my ramblings as I prep for Christmas in house, heart and sales. I would love for you join in my excitement as we countdown the days and stress out about the run up to the big day.

Oh and I may also link up to With U in Mind now and again ;) because I can!
